New Blog

Ø Describe your ideal Instructor/Professor.

Ø “I knew it when I studied it, but I forgot it on the test.” How can students study differently to prevent this from happening?

Ø How do you study for quizzes/tests?

Ø What do you have trouble with on quizzes/tests?

Also, read this short excerpt-- I was shocked:

For coffee drinkers, it would seem fairly safe to just grab a quick cup of coffee at McDonalds on the way to work. But many health conscious people would object to it also including this list of ingredients: sodium phosphate, sodium polyphosphate, Di-Acetyl Tartrate Ester of Monoglyceride, sodium stearoyl lactylate, tetra sodium pyrophosphate, sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium citrate, and carrageenan.

Some of these food additives are not foods at all, but are chemicals that are generally recognized as safe. Most of these additives cannot be found at your local grocery store, probably because they aren’t food. But some can be found at your local hardware store, though in inedible products like low tox antifreeze, silicone caulk, soap, sunscreen, and play sand.

(This website is used only for citation purposes - you don't have to go there, unless you want to. Caution: It's scary!)

Finally - Do you feel as if there is any healthy fast food available to consumers? If so, where and why? Give specific examples of products.. Please be honest and support your opinions. For example, I feel that Subway's Veggie Sub is healthy due to its freshly-cut produce, cheese, and "fresh-baked" breads. I actually talked to a friend who works at Subway and he said in MQT, they slice their own produce. (My fear was that it arrived pre-sliced and filled with preservatives). It's not organic, but it's a start.

MY ideal porfessor would about 6 feet tall, weigh in at about 150lbs with a fair complexion and a neatly trimmed handlebar mustache. Also, he would have to be very personable and exuding an aura of confidence that says"hey, come talk to me. I'll help you get an A even if i have to beat you repeatedly with a textbook to shove the information in your head." Explanation is key to good communication. If he can't explain things in lamens terms so an average joe like me can understand, than to me, he wouldnt be ideal. He also has to wear a rainbow colored bowtie so i have something to stare at.

How do i study for quizzes?? Thats a good question? I usually sit in a very comfortable place with my Chopin blaring and read, read, read and read until i know something in and out. Then I repeat the process until my eyes start to bleed. then I take a short break where I watch an episode of CSI and idolize my friend Gil Grissom. I want to be as smart as him someday. Then I study again.

My biggest problem with quizzes slash tests are reworded questions. If a professor is going to make me take notes on something and beat a point into my head, then they better damn make the questions on the test similar. Thats just evil when they do that.. It confuses me to no end and i just sit and get frustrated.

I believe that there are some relitivaly healthy fast food joints around here. One being boarder grill. I have no actual facts to back up buuuuut, it tastes really healthy and i feel good eating it rather than eating a nice greasy juicy 100% angus beef patty with american cheese, lettuce, delicious crispy bacon, and crinkle cut pickles.....

  1. You crack me up, I love the original blogs. Wouldn't a handlebar moustache be great?? hah.

Sounds like you are on the track to becoming as smart as Grissom ;) Nice to take a break, that is important.

I agree on reworded test questions, that's tough. They expect you to be critical thinkers which we will focus on soon.

I love Border Grill too and I'm pretty sure they are decent as far as ingredients go!

    10/10 Excellent.
